Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Registration
The Qualified Medication Aide Certification Program ensures that individuals meet the requirements for a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) and are on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry. This program is administered by the Indiana State Department of Health, Division of Healthcare Education and Quality.

To be certified as a QMA an individual has to complete additional training and demonstrated competency while dispensing and passing medications and or applying/administrating treatments. In addition, a QMA must obtain six (6) hours of medication related inservice education each year. A QMA works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse and can perform only procedures that are defined within the QMA scope of practice.
